Back to school for my son, R.J.
He's in 6th grade at Challenger Middle School. 6th grade is the first year of middle school in the Huntsville City Schools. He seems to be adjusting well to middle school, taking the usual new school things like getting lost and dealing with locker combinations in stride. As one of his electives, he is taking band this year. He wants to play the saxaphone. I'm sure I'll really "enjoy" hearing him practice.

The project that I'm working on at work is going well. I work on the Theater High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) weapon system. After a long stream of problems, we just had 2 successful flight tests this summer. I've worked on this project for almost 7 years now, and hopefully, it will keep me employed for years to come.

Congratulations to my brother, John, and his wife, Dana! Their first child, Matthew Richard Herschel, arrived August 23, 1999. R.J. and I can hardly wait to make our next trip to Ohio to begin spoiling him! Click here to see more pictures. |
